Russell Standard is the only contractor in Pennsylvania to offer the licensed and patented Polymerized Asphalt Surface Seal or PASS. The PASS System offers products that are scientifically formulated to rejuvenate and extend the lives of pavements regardless of its lifecycle stage.
FiberMat is the ultimate crack inhibiting membrane process. This patented process combines polymer modified asphalt emulsion with chopped glass fiber strands to create a membrane that absorbs stresses and therefore delays cracking. This process can be used as an aggregate covered wearing surface or as a stress absorbing membrane interlayer when covered with an asphalt overlay.
Gilsonite Sealer/Binder GSB-88
GSB-88 emulsified sealer and rejuvenator from Russell Standard is a unique formulation that rejuvenates and seals commercial and private asphalt pavements in hours. As it cures, GSB-88 seals pavement surfaces against water intrusion and aggregate loss. It dries to a serviceable condition in just 2 to 3 hours. After GSB-88 has been applied you will have an asphalt pavement that has been replenished with the oils and resins that add years of life to it. GSB-88 is odorless, non-toxic and non-carcinogenic.
NOVACHIP®
Russell Standard Corporation has been associated with NovaChip since its introduction in the United States in 1992. Since 1994 Russell Standard Corporation has installed over 2 million square yards on various state and local roads in both Western and Eastern Pennsylvania and on county roads in Michigan. Our earliest projects in the City of Pittsburgh are performing as expected after many years of service. NovaChip is an ultra thin hot mix asphalt that is bonded to the existing surface. The bond is created by using a unique paver that applies a polymer modified liquid asphalt and the hot mix asphalt at the same time. The superior bond and the unique aggregate gradations offer many advantages.
- Process is much faster than conventional hot mix paving... open for traffic in five minutes or less.

FB-3 Modified Wearing Course
FB Modified paving material is a multi-purpose, ambient temperature asphalt for use on existing streets and roadways. The material can be used as either binder or wearing course. No chip seal is required to seal the surface. This material is highly flexible and can be used where more rigid pavements fail because of its resiliency. This material will perform well on roads with below standard and weak base courses. The material remains very elastic and pliable at temperatures ranging from 32 degrees Fahrenheit to 100 degrees Fahrenheit and yet yields a durable, long lasting surface.
PASS®
Polymerized Asphalt Surface Sealer, or PASS, is an emulsion of a highly elastic polymer modified blend of a rejuvenation agent and an asphalt. PASS has enhanced low and high temperature properties. PASS resists low temperature cracking, as well as maintains and restores asphalt pavements without cracking or bleeding. A seal utilizing PASS gives the following advantages with a simple application: it rejuvenates asphalt, seals asphalt, fills cracks, provides a wearing course, resists future cracking, provides a membrane to resist reflective cracking and is economical.
Scrub Seal is a process that combines the unique characteristics of PASS with readily available aggregate and a specially designed drag broom. The process provides an economical treatment that fills cracks, rejuvenates worn asphalt pavement and provides a durable wearing course. All of the above is accomplished with a single procedure and often at a considerable lower cost than conventional crack sealing operations. PASS scrub seals are also used to provide a membrane with resistance to reflective cracking.
Grip-Tight
Grip-Tight is a highly polymerized asphalt emulsion specially designed for fog seal and flush coat applications. Like the best high-performance flush coat products, it locks and holds aggregate in place exceptionally well. But what sets Grip-Tight apart is its turn around time. Vehicle traffic can be released back on the roadway within just 15 minutes of application.

CNTTC
Offers the ultimate friction surface to prevent slippage between new overlays and old underlying pavements. While traditional tack coat materials take many hours to cure, CNTTC is traffic ready in 15-30 minutes from application. And CNTTC will not track onto concrete aprons, bridge decks or other surfaces not receiving overlay.

Co-Ag-1031
Latex modified emulsion designed to alleviate bleeding problems on roadways with bleeding surfaces. This material is designed to change the existing oil's chemistry on the surface to stop future bleeding.
Polypave
Polypave is used for repairing potholes in roadways. This environmentally friendly product can be used on frozen and wet roadways. Water-filled holes can be filled without compromising its cohesive ability to stay in the pothole. And Polypave does not omit any hydrocarbons into the atmosphere.
Ambient Asphalt Pavements
Specially formulated emulsions used to produce base and wearing courses. Materials can be used in lieu of HMA in developments and roadways and are environmentally friendly since they emit no hydrocarbons into the atmosphere. And because the materials are produced at ambient temperatures, there is no agging.
