Mike Rowe

Mike Rowe promoted to Chief Operating Officer as the company strengthens operations and prepares for future expansion in infrastructure solutions.

Russell Standard, a leader in asphalt materials and pavement preservation solutions, today announced key executive leadership changes that will shape the company’s future.

After more than 12 years of dedicated service, Bob Huitt, Senior Vice President of Asphalt Materials, will retire in March 2025. Throughout his tenure, Huitt played a pivotal role in advancing Russell Standard’s asphalt materials division, driving innovation and strengthening the company’s position as an industry leader.

“Bob has been an invaluable part of our team, and his expertise has been instrumental in our success,” said Matt Johnson, President of Russell Standard. “His leadership has helped us grow and innovate in ways that will leave a lasting impact. We deeply appreciate his contributions and wish him all the best in his well-earned retirement.”

As part of this transition, Mike Rowe, Vice President of Pavement Preservation, has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective January 2025. Rowe, who has been with Russell Standard for 18 years, has consistently demonstrated outstanding leadership and a deep operational understanding of the company’s business. In this newly created role, he will oversee daily operations, ensuring continued growth and excellence across the company.

“Mike’s promotion is a reflection of his exceptional leadership and dedication to our company’s success,” Johnson added. “His experience and vision will be instrumental as we continue to evolve and meet the needs of our customers. We are excited about the future under his leadership.”

Additionally, John “Junior” Shutsa will now oversee supply chain operations as Vice President of Business Development and Supply, further strengthening Russell Standard’s ability to deliver high-quality products and services efficiently.

These leadership changes mark a significant milestone in Russell Standard’s ongoing strategy to enhance operations, drive innovation, and create value for customers and communities.

“Our commitment to excellence and innovation remains unwavering,” Johnson said. “As we move forward, we are confident that these leadership changes will position Russell Standard for even greater success.”
